Dr. Meryl Brown


Dr. Brown comes from a family of dentists. Her mother is a general dentist who primarily treats children and she is the inspiration behind Dr. Brown’s decision to become a pediatric dentist. Dr. Brown believes maintaining oral health is critical to every child’s growth, development, general health and happiness! Dr. Brown understands that every individual requires a unique approach when in the dental chair and she enjoys the challenge of determining what approach is best for each patient.

Dr. Brown grew up in Shaker Heights, Ohio, and moved to New York to attend Barnard College where she received her B.A. in Art History and Visual Arts. She completed her dental education at Columbia University College of Dental Medicine and did post-graduate work as a General Practice Resident at St. Barnabas Hospital in the Bronx. She completed her specialty training in Pediatric Dentistry at Jacobi Medical Center which is affiliated with the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx.

Dr. Brown is an active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the American Dental Association and the NY County Dental Association. Dr. Brown is on the steering committee for NYC’s annual Give Kids a Smile Day bringing oral health to under-served children. She is also a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. In 2015, Dr. Brown received the Richard C. Pugh Achievement Award which honors the top three percent scores of the Qualifying Examination of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.

In her free time, Dr. Brown enjoys cooking, painting, traveling, and spending time with friends and family. Dr. Brown lives on the Upper West Side with her husband and their 2 children. Lastly, Dr. Brown is very excited to be joining the amazing legacy of quality pediatric dental care at Bway Smiles!
